Life as a student at Gardenview is full of opportunities to learn and play! There is always a new adventure waiting just around the corner.
Here you will find out all you need to know about our achievements, social and community programs, events and news from the Gardenview community.
All school rules and regulations are in effect during activities, whether in school or outside of school.
Fieldtrips are pedagogical outings that are planned to complement the program that is being followed by the students in their subject areas. Field trips are not electives but rather a compulsory component of the curriculum. All students must participate in these outings. It is recommended that children bring disposable cameras and not cell phones in order to take pictures.
A parent volunteer may be selected to help in the supervision and well-being of the students on a field trip. If a parent is selected then it is understood that a younger sibling should not be brought on the fieldtrip.
Earth Club
Gardenview has an "Earth Club". Members include cycle II and III students; one representative from each class. The club focuses on developing and pursuing projects/activities that bring environmental awareness to our school community as well as serve as examples of sustainability.
Students have the opportunity to set objectives, bring them to fruition, and reflect on both the successes and failures. While they are striving to educate and inspire others, Earth Club students are learning valuable skills such as goal-setting, planning, organization, effective communication, and teamwork.
Earth Club begins in October and meets once a week on Fridays during lunch recess time (12:25pm). Attendance is mandatory.
Gardenview Musicals
Musicals have become a tradition at Gardenview School. It has been the mission of the Home and School Association to provide students with a musical theatre experience.
Occurring every few years, the artistic team has helped students present highly successful productions such as "The Sound of Music", "Grease", and "The Wizard of Oz". Students are selected through auditions, and spend months working on their acting, dancing and singing abilities on stage. Students are also involved in working behind the scenes to produce these wonderful musicals.
Ice Hockey
The Gardenview Gators ice hockey team is made of of Gardenview Students in Grades 5 & 6. Open to both boys and girls, students are encouraged to try out and are selected by the ice-hockey committee, made up of coaches, gym teachers and governing board members.

All players must maintain minimum grades of 75% in English, French, Math & Human Sciences. They must demonstrate good personal conduct and behaviour in school, in order to remain on team after selection.
