What is the Gardenview Home & School Association?

The Gardenview Home & School Association (GHSA) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that is part of the Quebec Federation of Home and School Association (QFHSA). We have our own constitution and by-laws that govern us and financially, all funds that we raise are allocated to different school activities and/or projects.

At Gardenview, the GHSA and the administration have a long-standing partnership of working together to provide the students with enriching programs and activities outside the school curriculum, the teachers with extra support and the building with what is needed. We also work closely with the Governing Board, who is responsible for other areas that are different from GHSA such as curriculum, school budgets and uniforms.

The GHSA is managed by an Executive Committee comprised of volunteers in the following roles:

• Vice-President
• Treasurer
• Membership and Communications
• Secretary

We also have sub-committee chairs for the following areas:

• Fundraising/Special Events
• By-Laws
• Choir
• Graduation/ Yearbook
• Health & Safety
• Newsletter
• Staff Appreciation

Meetings

The regular meetings of the Gardenview Home & School Association (GHSA) are normally held the third Wednesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in the Staff Lounge. A notice of meetings is sent out at the beginning of every school year.

All parents, guardians, teachers and administration of Gardenview are welcome to attend. If you wish to bring up an issue for discussion, please let us know at least one full week in advance of the meeting by emailing ghsa.info@gmail.com.
